VP Business Development
The VP of Business Development (VPBD) secures enterprise level shippers through in-person and remote sales meetings, and works with the Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to develop parcel and LTL programs to optimize the shipper’s network and analyze the best rates and service. They help establish and maintain the sales pipeline, and help resolve complex customer requests. The VPBD oversees workflow of all business processing for their assigned sales territory. The VPBD collaborates with cross-functional teams to introduce new products or services. The VPBD manages promotional events and interacts with partners to increase sales. They leverage our CRM to manage deal flow, SOWs and contracts, and keep accurate records of receipts and invoices.

The Green Mountain team is comprised of the most talented and knowledgeable individuals with vast experience in shipping, logistics, data analytics, and technology. Our clients are the largest shippers of products that move as parcels or LTL in North America.
The VPBD role:

- Managing assigned territory to meet / exceed sales objectives - win new business and grow existing business.
- Collaborating with Sales & Marketing Directors and Operations to develop and implement strategies, systems, pricing, metrics, resource requirements to hit sales targets.
- Maintaining up-to-date assigned territory information within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System.
- Analyzing business processes and collaborating with Senior Account Managers, Sales & Marketing Directors, and Operations to identify opportunities and improve results.
- Developing and communicating sales support strategies to the management team.
Successful skills:
Knowledgeable in parcel, logistics, procurement, ecommerce, LTL, supply chain, parcel auditing with skill in leveraging data, technology, and innovative processes to bring value to clients and collaborate with our team for on-going efficiency. Great presentation ability and tenacious in understanding complexities and the variety of buyers in large deals.
Qualifications and Knowledge:

- BA or BS preferred. MBA or MS in Supply Chain or Logistics highly desirable. Consideration for relevant industry experience.
- Trained and experienced in outside sales and proven ability to hit sales quotas.
- Strong acumen of logistics especially with parcels.
- Ability to travel up to 40%.
- Working from home in a professional setting suitable for video calls with prospects and clients.
Skills:

- Building and maintaining a sales plan and robust pipeline.
- Negotiating and ability to achieve sales targets.
- Effective written and spoken communication.
- Advanced computer ability with Salesforce or other CRM, Confluence, PowerPoint.
- Strong presentation and closing ability.
Experience:
-
- 5+ years successful selling to Fortune 500 companies.
- 5+ years in logistics, transportation or spend management industry.
- Proven effective interaction with Senior Executives (CEO, COO, CFO, EVP, VP).
- Managing travel to prospect and client meetings and staying within T&E budget.
- Skilled in orchestrating support teams in deal strategies and joint meetings.
The VPBD role is a salary plus commission role.
