Project Manager

What Will You Be Doing?
As a project manager (PM) at Green Mountain, you are responsible for creating and leading implementation plans for setting up new customers or carriers at Green Mountain. The project manager must be able to build strong and trusting relationships with our customers. This individual is an expert at interpreting customer requirements and appropriately translating them into Green Mountain solutions. The project manager’s focus throughout the implementation is gathering requirements from the customer, determining scope, detailing tasks, and timelines, indirectly managing Green Mountain resources as you execute the plan, mitigating risks, managing collateral, monitoring testing, moving the implementation into production, and ultimately handing off the account to the Green Mountain production support team.

Qualifications and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s or higher degree, preferably in Engineering, MIS, Data Analytics, or Supply Chain
- Post Graduate courses or certifications desirable, especially in Project Management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification desirable
- Knowledge of transportation / supply chain systems and concepts
- Knowledge of integration with accounting systems and processes preferred.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert/proficient practitioner of project management.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- SQL experience (or other database query tools) a plus
- Proficiency in Atlassian products (Confluence & Jira)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability and confidence to develop and present to senior audiences in a customer environment.
- Mastery of developing an agenda/tracker and leading customer calls
- Expertise at leading without authority (without management title)
- Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to pivot quickly between topics/projects.
- Must be self-motivated and outcome-oriented, particularly driven by timelines (works with limited supervision)
- Demonstrate strong and successful desire to excel and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to work with projects of different sizes, complexity, and SOWs.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders whom they are not directly responsible (customer and Green Mountain) to achieve the objectives of the project.
- Strong negotiating skills to convey to customers ‘best practice’ for new customer account setup.
- Extensive judgement, and independent judgement, in making rational decisions from the available information and analysis; inclusive of knowing which subject matter experts to seek for advisement and/or issue resolution.
- Understands and works within established PM standards (defined by Green Mountain or industry); can work independently and apply established standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot a range of problems, demonstrating an understanding of how one issue may be a part of a much larger system configuration and/or issue.
- Excels at critical thinking and root cause problem solving.
- Ability to hear customer’s verbiage, requirements, and problems, then articulate the Green Mountain solution for each.
- Builds trust with each team member, ensuring team feels confident to provide feedback, raise concerns, etc.
- Excels in customer communications and requirements gathering.
- Master with documentation and maintenance of processes, solutions, customer requirements, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding mentoring skills and to support team members, peers, and colleagues to achieve targeted results.
- Dedication to customer satisfaction, problem-solving, and teamwork
- Ability to analyze numerical data, verbal data, and all other sources of information.
- Ability to handle ambiguity with work assignments.
- Willingness to seek mastery of Green Mountain application and tools necessary for implementation success.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with supply chain networks (as a shipper, carrier, or auditor)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in project management
- Previous experience collaborating directly with customers.
- Previous experience with technical implementations preferred.
- Proven experience identifying and managing project issues and risks, including resourcing, timelines, scope, risk mitigation, etc.
- Experience designing and executing queries in a relational database (SQL preferred)
- Knowledge of related disciplines in the organization (Solutions Engineering, Contract Management, Operations Analysts, Production Processing) preferred.
